It's time for a mission statement
I've created my own clothes for as long as I can remember, and that's because I've mostly been disenchanted by clothes found on the high street. There are some heavenly designers and boutiques, of course, but they're expensive and elusive. Well made clothes, out of well made cloth, shouldn't cost the Earth. And while we're talking about the Earth.... there's an ever burning need to reduce fast fashion and truly value the clothes in our wardrobes.
I've worked on a few simple timeless patterns. Simple, because the less time it takes me to sew the clothes, the lower their cost to you. Timeless, because I don't want to follow a consumer fed, throwaway fashion industry. I've also focussed on getting as little waste fabric as I can out of the pattern cut. What waste I have, goes to teeny clothes, herb pouches, and patchwork. The smallest bits are used for cushion filling. Literally, 0% is going into landfill.
The journey has eventually brought me to the dream of sewing up organic (GOTS), fairtrade (World Fair Trade Forum), unbleached or naturally dyed cloth. Anything other than 100% natural fibre will be phased out.
My clothing prices reflect the time, craft, and resources used. I'm a small time, woman led, home business and your customer experience really matters to me. I want you to love my clothes and I'd like to think they'll still be in your wardrobe for many years.
Recent figures show every other purchase you make on this website, is made by a returning customer.
I'm SO glad you like my high standards too.
How Will You Wear Yours?
Life is just too short not to go to town in a pair of bloomers. Okay, some of my undergarments are definitely for viewing by invitation only. But smiles are infectious, and never more so than when us girls strut our stuff and feel good about it.
It's not just superman who wears pants on the outside, you know!
